After months of anticipation and excitement, the iconic Casa Bonita has officially opened its doors to the public, marking a new chapter in its storied history at our very own Lamar Station Plaza! Following a successful soft opening in 2023, where only a select group of guests got a sneak peek, the beloved Colorado restaurant is now accepting reservations from everyone.

For those who grew up in the Denver area or remember Casa Bonita from its famous appearance in South Park, the wait has been worth it. The landmark, known for its elaborate indoor décor, cliff divers, and a quirky mix of family entertainment, has undergone significant renovations. Originally opening in 1974, and temporarily closing in March 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the restaurant was acquired by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone. After the $40 million renovation by the pair, Casa Bonita is officially back and thriving.

What’s New at Casa Bonita?

While Casa Bonita has always been a hub for family-friendly entertainment, the reopening comes with exciting updates:

  • Revamped Menu: The new ownership, led by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, has made significant improvements, especially in the kitchen. Under the guidance of executive chef Dana Rodriguez, guests can now enjoy authentic Mexican dishes that are as satisfying as the entertainment.
  • Enhanced Dining Experience: Casa Bonita has streamlined its service, ensuring that every guest can enjoy the entertainment without long wait times. Whether you're here for the cliff divers or Black Bart's Cave, the improved setup allows for a smoother experience.
  • Interior Upgrades: While the pink tower exterior and whimsical décor remain, the restaurant has undergone subtle renovations to enhance the overall aesthetic and guest comfort. The changes preserve its iconic charm while updating key features for a modern audience.

Casa Bonita and Lamar Station Plaza

For decades, Casa Bonita has been more than just a restaurant—it’s a landmark at Lamar Station Plaza, a vibrant shopping and entertainment destination in Lakewood. The plaza has long been a gathering place for families, and since the Casa Bonita reopening, it promises to attract both locals and tourists alike.

Lamar Station Plaza, located just off West Colfax Avenue, is easily accessible and offers ample parking. The surrounding shops and businesses make it a convenient location for a day of fun, allowing visitors to explore the area before or after their Casa Bonita experience. Its location in the plaza adds a unique charm, combining a traditional shopping center with the theatrical experience that Casa Bonita is known for.

A Mix of Nostalgia and New Adventures

Casa Bonita’s reopening at Lamar Station Plaza represents the perfect blend of the old and the new. The new owners, Parker and Stone, have ensured that the restaurant continues to honor its legacy while welcoming in a new generation of guests. With the improvements in food quality and service, Casa Bonita has become more than just a nostalgic trip down memory lane—it's now a destination that combines culinary delight with family entertainment.
